Writers Forum Workshop / Ethos

Writers Forum Workshop was founded by the fine poet Bob Cobbing (1920 – 2002)

The ethos of Writers Forum Workshop is the entirely sane one that people learn from each other and learn most constructively when they are encouraged. WF Workshops, therefore, are chaired lightly. Negative comment is strongly discouraged. Regular attendance is encouraged.

The focus is upon experimentation and innovation. Meetings last up to two hours. Often the second half includes a launch of publications from the press, Writers Forum. Occasionally, we invite guest poets to make workshop presentations.

Currently, we meet, on average, every three weeks, with longer breaks at the new year and in August; we meet on Saturdays, between 3.30 and 4 p.m.; and the workshop runs from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.

All who support our ethos and focus may attend; and we are keen to meet new people.
